Survey Work
We are also able to do amphibian and reptile surveys on game farms and reserves, or in areas that are going to be developed. KwaZulu-Natal is one of the most diverse areas in the country for reptiles and amphibians, so there's lots to be discovered!
We will:
-
Search day and night to find, identify and record as many species as possible.
-
We will take photographs for record purposes.
-
Post records to a Virtual Museum for scientific purposes
-
Give a full report of findings to the land owner.
For enquiries email:
Why should you have surveys done?
-
It is important to know if there are any protected or endangered species in an area, especially if there are development plans in place.
-
Habitat loss is the main threat to conservation of amphians and reptiles, we need to conserve their natural distribution areas.
-
It is useful information for land owners to have, it could be used for marketing and tourism (Frogging tours, if a good population of frogs occur).
